Dynamics in a Bistable-Element-Network with Delayed Coupling and Local Noise

چکیده
The dynamics of an ensemble of bistable elements under the influence of noise and with global time-delayed coupling is studied numerically by using a Langevin description and analytically by using 1) a Gaussian approximation and 2) a dichotomic model. We find that for a strong enough positive feedback the system undergoes a phase transition and adopts a non-zero stationary mean field. A variety of coexisting oscillatory mean field states are found for positive and negative couplings. The magnitude of the oscillatory states is maximal for a certain noise temperature, i.e., the system demonstrates the phenomenon of coherence resonance. While away form the transition points the system dynamics is well described by the Gaussian approximation, near the bifurcations it is more adequately described by the dichotomic model.

The dynamics of an ensemble of bistable elements with global time-delayed coupling under the influence of noise is studied analytically and numerically. Depending on the noise level, the system undergoes ordering transitions and demonstrates multistability. That is, for a strong enough positive feedback it exhibits a nonzero stationary mean-field,and a variety of stable oscillatory mean-field s...
متن کاملWeak Force Measurement in Bistable Optomechanical System
One of the main milestones in the study of opto-mechanical system is to increase the sensitivity of weak forces measurement up to the standard quantum limit. We have studied the detection of weak force under a bistable condition in red detuned regime. In this case, dynamics of the system behaves asymptotically similar to stationary state and applying external force affects phase and fluctuation...

Networks of globally coupled, noise-activated, bistable elements with connection time delays are considered. The dynamics of these systems is studied numerically using a Langevin description and analytically using (1) a Gaussian approximation as well as (2) a dichotomous model. The system demonstrates ordering phase transitions and multistability. That is, for a strong enough feedback it exhibi...
متن کاملCoupling Nonlinear Element Free Galerkin and Linear Galerkin Finite Volume Solver for 2D Modeling of Local Plasticity in Structural Material
This paper introduces a computational strategy to collaboratively develop the Galerkin Finite Volume Method (GFVM) as one of the most straightforward and efficient explicit numerical methods to solve structural problems encountering material nonlinearity in a small limited area, while the remainder of the domain represents a linear elastic behavior. In this regard, the Element Free Galerkin met...
متن کاملDynamics of Macro–Nano Mechanical Systems; Fixed Interfacial Multiscale Method
The continuum based approaches don’t provide the correct physics in atomic scales. On the other hand, the molecular based approaches are limited by the length and simulated process time. As an attractive alternative, this paper proposes the Fixed Interfacial Multiscale Method (FIMM) for computationally and mathematically efficient modeling of solid structures. The approach is applicable to mult...
